Dine Local near ASURE Highpark Motor Inn and ASURE Gables Motor Lodge
Kia ora and haere mai! After a day exploring the West Coast, you’ll be glad to know some of Greymouth’s best feeds are right on our doorstep. Here are three local favourites our guests love.

Buccleugh’s on High
Just along High Street at the historic Recreation Hotel, Buccleugh’s is a local favourite for hearty, honest meals. They open early for a big breakfast before a day of adventuring, and dinner is served every night. The menu has West Coast highlights like blue cod and venison, plus plenty of Kiwi classics, with gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options too. Dine inside or out, whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple or with the whole whānau.

Speight’s Ale House Greymouth
Opposite the railway station, you’ll find Speight’s in the 1909 “Brick House”, a category 1 historic building with plenty of character. Come in for a cold Speight’s ale and generous modern pub fare, with food served from 11.30am every day. They also have the only vibrant outdoor dining area in Greymouth, which is perfect on a sunny afternoon. It’s a lovely first stop if you’ve just arrived on the TranzAlpine, and we’re happy to pick you up from the station.

Monteith’s Brewery
Beer has been brewed on the West Coast since 1868, and this is where it all began. Settle in for a meal and a fresh pour, then join a brewery tour to see how the magic happens. There’s a good range of dishes to match the beers, and vegan and gluten free options are clearly marked on the menu. It’s an easy stroll from ASURE Highpark, so no one needs to worry about driving home.
